KitchenAid offers four hand mixer models, each receiving excellent consumer reviews. Retailing from $50 to $90, these models serve as the sole mixer to the uninvolved cook and a handy sidekick to the stand mixer for those with a passion for cooking and baking.
The three-speed hand mixer is a tough kitchen companion; the five-speed mixer maintains high endurance levels, equipped with stainless steel Turbo Beaters, a liquid blender rod and steel dough hooks.
The seven-speed hand mixer has Clean Touch Controls and a Soft Start that allows for better mixer control. The nine-speed model adds an electronic digital control, a stainless steel whisk, three slow-stir speeds, a high whip speed, and an electronic mixing sensor.

Three Artisian Series five-quart Tilt-Head stand mixers ($300-$500) have 325-watt motors, 10 speeds, and a power hub for additional attachments. Ergonomic handle and pouring shield come standard along with flat beaters, dough hooks, and wire whips. One model offers 25 designer colors.
KitchenAid's four five-quart Bowl-Lift models range from $250-$430. These are 325- to 450-watt heavy-duty, high-performance, 10-speed mixers. Two six-quart models ($400) top out at 575 watts. These Bowl-Lift mixers have direct-drive transmissions and all-steel gears; some have an all-metal construction. They powerfully churn through yeast dough with commercial capabilities, handling up to 12 cups of flour and three loaves of bread per batch.
